Is it fit for purpose?
Malachia's virtual tour fits the purposes perfectly because from the start, it lets people know that it is about the Drama department because of the logos that he has used to show it. Also, his virtual tour contains a lot of information and pictures about the department. It also lets people know that this department belongs to the Kingswood School because of the Kingswood logo at the bottom of the page. It also shows some of the student work which is compiled in the gallery. His virtual tour talks about the department and about the additional information. He has also included feedback from other students about the department. Generally, his virtual tour meets all the purposes and suits well for people because of the amount of information.
Are the media elements appropriate?
The media elements that Malachia have used are appropriate and straight forward obvious and to the point. Looking at his virtual tour, you can figure out straight away that he is talking about the drama department. He has created and used the logo of the two well known masks (one happy, one sad) which gives away that he's going to be talking about drama. The gallery that he created and used is also appropriate for the drama department.
Does it work without errors or broken links? Screenshot any problems.
The only error in his virtual tour is right at the start, when it shows 'Welcome to the Drama Department'. It is an error because it shows too fast then switches to the homepage so it can be difficult for people to read it straight away because it fades too fast. Everything else in his virtual tour works successfully and there are no broken links. Here is a screenshot of the page that I am talking about that has an error of fading away too fast.
Is it professional?
Malachia's virtual tour looks quite professional because everything works, it has lots of animation and everything runs smoothly. Also it looks professional because of his use of originality and creative skills. His background looks nice and doesn't cut your eye, the logos are appropriate, the font looks neat and easily readable and there are lots of information about the department. His virtual tour is successful and is a high quality standard.
Give at least 5 amendments you think the designer should make.
- The first improvement that I suggest, would be making the very first slide (Welcome to Drama) last longer so that it will give enough time for the title to sink in and people can actually see his logo and the way he presents it.
- I would also suggest to add more pictures on the 'Navigation' page so that it looks less empty.
- He should probably experiment more with the animations to make it look more fun.
- He should experiment more with the colours so that they maybe match with the colours of the Kingswood School.
- Change the texts to make it look more interesting.
www: great report, well written.
ReplyDeleteebi: you look at the product again and find 2 more alterations for the designer to make.
